Beloved Moroccan Singer Abdou Cherif Dies at 65 from Heart Attack

Abdou Cherif, a Moroccan singer with a golden voice, passed away this Friday, March 8 in Casablanca, struck down by a heart attack.
The singer, who was to perform that same evening in Casablanca, was suddenly taken ill. Rushed to the hospital, he could not be revived.
Abdou Cherif was not just any singer. Nicknamed the "Moroccan Abdel Halim Hafez," he was one of the most talented and beloved interpreters of the repertoire of the Egyptian legend. His powerful and captivating voice had conquered the hearts of the Moroccan public and beyond.
The news of his passing has caused a wave of emotion. Many artists, including singer Latifa Raafat, have expressed their sadness on social media. "You were a true friend, a true brother, and a true support," wrote Latifa Rafat, who was to meet Abdou Cherif during his concert in Casablanca.
The Moroccan singer was only 52 years old.
