Moroccan Singer Omar Cherif Found Dead at Home, Investigation Launched

Moroccan singer Omar Cherif died during the night from Monday to Tuesday at his home in Casablanca. An investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the death.
Omar Cherif was found dead during the night from Monday to Tuesday at his home in Casablanca, several sources in the artistic community reported, assuring that the singer was not complaining of any health problems. Informed, the authorities of the economic capital went to the scene of the death in order to investigate the exact circumstances of the death, said a source close to the late artist. According to Abdellah Daoudi, one of the artists who paid tribute to the illustrious deceased, Cherif would have died of a heart attack. "The artist Omar Cherif leaves us for the hereafter following a sudden heart attack. Our most sincere condolences to the family of the deceased. May God cover him with His great mercy and grant his loved ones patience and comfort. To God we belong and to Him we return," he writes in a post on his Facebook account.
Singer Hassan Dikouk regrets the departure of a "good" and "virtuous" man. "May God’s mercy be upon you, our brother Omar Cherif, a shocking news [...] We worked together and you were among the good and virtuous men. To God we belong and to Him we return," he writes in a post on the same social network.
