Missing Moroccan Mother and Son Found Safe in Agadir After Week-Long Search

Missing since March 10, a mother and her 9-year-old son who were the subject of a search warrant, were found on Thursday by the judicial police services in Meknes. The mother and her son had left the family home under suspicious circumstances.

After their disappearance, a search warrant was issued by the national security services in Meknes, after the complaint of the husband who said that his wife and 9-year-old son had left the house and could have been kidnapped. A rumor on social networks mentioned a kidnapping with a ransom demand.

Immediately seized by the family, the police conducted searches and investigations that led to their localization in the Belfaa region of Agadir, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). They were found in good health, the statement said, noting that they were not the subject of any kidnapping or assault contrary to what was circulated on social networks.

The woman and her son will be questioned by the judicial police brigade in charge of the investigation in Meknes in order to determine the circumstances that led the woman to leave her home, as well as the real reasons behind her trip to the Belfaa region in Agadir.
