Messi Likely to Skip Morocco Friendly, Opting to Stay in Barcelona

While the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) paid a high price for the presence of Lionel Messi during the friendly match between Morocco and the Argentine team, the latter has decided to snub the kingdom.
No official confirmation, neither from the Moroccan officials nor from the Argentines, but according to the Spanish press, starting with the very informed Marca, the FC Barcelona player should not be part of the squad that is to face the Atlas Lions on March 26 at the Ibn Battouta stadium in Tangier.
Lionel Messi wants to play the friendly match against Venezuela on March 22, 4 days before Morocco, and then stay in Barcelona, instead of flying to Tangier. The player’s demands are due, it is sworn, to another important match that the Catalan club must play against Real Club Deportivo Español.
It should be noted that Morocco had proposed to put several million dirhams on the table for Messi’s presence at this meeting. Appointment this Thursday for the announcement of the list of players called up by the two teams.
