Messi Reveals Ongoing Groin Injury, Explains Absence from Morocco Match

The absence of Lionel Messi in the friendly match between the Atlas Lions and the Argentine Albiceleste would be due to a decision by Argentine coach Lionel Scaloni because of a groin injury that Messi has been suffering from since the winter break.
Lionel Messi was interviewed by Radio 94.7 Club Octubre, an Argentine media. During this interview, he addressed several topics. His absence from the friendly match between Morocco and Argentina last Tuesday was discussed.
The Pulga replied: "I don’t like to lie, it was normal for things to be said about me, to invent, it also annoys me a bit. The reality is that I’ve been living with a groin injury since the winter break, I’m trying to take care of myself and I’m playing less than before. Scaloni knows all this and that’s why he decided I wouldn’t play the second match against Morocco."
What about the pain? Messi continues: "There was nothing arranged in advance. I went with the idea of playing both matches. After playing the first match, I felt pain and to avoid aggravating my injury, the coach left me to rest."
Let’s remember that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner trained the next day, Wednesday, with his FC Barcelona team.
