Mentally Ill Woman Arrested for Defacing Memorial to Moroccan Political Leader in Tangier

The elements of the Tangier police prefecture have succeeded in arresting the author of the desecration of the stele erected in tribute to the late Abderrahmane Youssoufi. It is a mentally unstable woman.
Following the images that circulated on the web, showing the plaque of the stele defaced with fecal matter, the outraged Moroccans demanded the opening of an investigation. The author of this act was a homeless woman suffering from mental disorders. She was arrested and placed in a psychiatric hospital in Tangier.
Let us recall that the act was committed the day after a national tribute. On this occasion, flowers and candles had been placed around the stele of the socialist leader.
