A great loss for Morocco. Former Prime Minister Abderrahmane Youssoufi passed away last night at the Cheikh Khalifa Hospital in Casablanca where he had been hospitalized for several days.
At the age of 96, this figure of the Moroccan left enabled Morocco to make a smooth political transition between the late King Hassan II and King Mohammed VI. The Moroccan sovereign was in contact with the medical team about his condition.
Abderrahmane Youssoufi had been admitted to the same hospital last week, after chest pains related, it is said, to the confinement decided by the authorities. He had also been suffering from cancer for several years.
