Melilla Port Prepares for Mass Return of Moroccan Vacationers from Europe

The authorities of Melilla have installed a giant tent inside the port of the city to welcome Moroccans from Europe who will be returning to their host country, after a few days of vacation in Morocco (Marhaba 2022).
This space will serve as a waiting area for the thousands of Moroccans from Europe who plan to embark from Melilla to Malaga, Almeria and Motril (Granada) after spending their vacation in Morocco, a spokesman for the Port Authority told Europa Press. The removable tent is installed to provide shade for the vehicles of Moroccans living abroad waiting to board. Toilets and a prayer area have also been set up," said a spokesman for the Government Delegation.
The construction of this tent, which covers an area of 2,000 square meters and will accommodate Moroccans living abroad and their vehicles, will cost the Port Authority 28,056 euros. It will serve both for the circulation and parking of vehicles inside the port.
The Security Council meeting on Thursday addressed the final details of this return phase of Operation Marhaba, which officially started on Friday. During this meeting, attended by the Government Delegate, Sabrina Moh, representatives of the Civil Guard, the Directorate General of Police, the Local Police and Civil Protection, it was assured that "the entire return phase device is ready".
