Marrakech Tourism Surges: 5% Increase in Overnight Stays, Occupancy Rates Rise

Statistics from the Tourism Observatory show that the total overnight stays in the various classified tourist accommodation establishments in the city of Marrakech increased by 5% at the end of May 2019, compared to the same month the previous year.
The data from the Tourism Observatory shows 3,309,142 overnight stays in the first five months of 2019, compared to 3,160,144 overnight stays in the same period last year.
The occupancy rate reached 63% at the end of May 2019, compared to 60% recorded during the January-May period of the previous year.
The average length of stay at the end of May is practically identical (3.0 days) to that recorded in the first five months of 2018 (3.1 days).
The only underperformance recorded: a total of 539,274 overnight stays was noted in May 2019, compared to 583,115 overnight stays in May 2018, a decrease of 8%.
