Marrakech will have carried out a good charm operation this summer, even if it is known to all the strong attractiveness that this city can boast of, in terms of its strong tourist capacities.
According to L’Économiste, which mentions the performance of the ochre city, it will have recorded attendance records in June, July and August. Indeed, Marrakech saw no less than 1.3 million tourists at the end of the first half, according to the media, which indicates that for the month of June alone, the increase in arrivals reached 42% and that of overnight stays 29%. And to conclude that this performance is explained by the fact that the destination benefits from the dynamism of world tourism and a demand from many traditional and emerging markets.
Among these markets, Spain is in a good position, benefiting from the arrival of the Spanish tour operator Globalia which has boosted the destination with 2 hotels and an airline. In clear, according to the same source, the performance of the European market will have been very beneficial, with an increase of more than 800,000 arrivals in 6 months, even if the American market will have been also dynamic, without forgetting China, and especially a domestic demand that has maintained its vigor. Among other leading countries, we can mention France, the United Kingdom and Spain.
All these factors have allowed Marrakech to achieve a strong rate of 63% at the end of June, proof of the good health of tourism in this city that is already working to bring this rate to 70% in the short term, the same source points out.
