Marrakech Tourism Industry Unveils ’3R’ Strategy to Revive Travel Post-Pandemic

In anticipation of the imminent reopening of Moroccan airspace, tourism professionals in the Marrakech-Safi region are busy. The arrangements revolve around the "3R" operation.
The "3 Rs": this is a roadmap broken down as follows: restart, relaunch and reinvent, adopted by tourism operators in the city in order to save the destination during the 2020-2021 winter season, according to Aujourd’hui Le Maroc.
All public and private sector actors and partners of the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) are mobilized around this roadmap, which starts in early October, all determined to adapt to the situation.
Thus, activities will resume in compliance with barrier gestures and health protocols, the newspaper reports, adding that, for this relaunch, professionals will reactivate the network of international partners to reconquer the market shares of the Marrakech destination, while working for the lifting of movement restrictions and the return of confidence among travelers.
And as for the last R (Reinvent), it means the "re-imagination" of new concepts and programs, as well as new more supportive, creative and collaborative offers.
The current unfavorable context for their activities does not diminish the optimism of these operators, the same source said. And the CRT to emphasize "the continued mobilization so that the other actors in the value chain such as tourist restaurants, crafts, entertainment activities and events are also covered".
It should be recalled that the region currently has about fifty operational units, in strict compliance with the required health protocol. Other establishments will reopen their doors in the coming weeks, the newspaper announces.
