Marrakech Tops List of International Destinations for French Travelers in 2021

Despite the health crisis related to Covid-19, Marrakech tops the ranking of the most popular destinations for French tourists in 2021. This is revealed by a study conducted by the search engine, Liligo.
"After an unprecedented year 2020 due to the pandemic and the uncertainties directly related to it, 2021 was marked by caution and acceptance, particularly in the tourism sector," summarizes Liligo. The study by this search engine shows that 2 out of 3 French people traveled last year. In fact, nearly 40% of them traveled more than once.
According to Liligo, Marrakech tops the top 10 of the most popular international destinations for the French in 2021 - excluding France and Europe. The ochre city is followed by Dubai, Ajaccio, Pointe-à-Pitre, Saint-Denis de la Réunion and Fort-de-France. Montreal and New York close the podium.
"Despite this renewed activity for the travel sector and generally positive trends, 1 in 2 travelers say the health crisis still disrupted their travels in 2021, mainly due to the tightening of restrictions at the destination, mentioned by 28% of respondents. Only 9% of them say they have suffered a problem related to a flight, train or other mode of transport being postponed or canceled."
