Marrakech Emerges as Top Travel Destination for French Tourists in 2021

The data collected by the travel search engine kayak.fr indicate that between July 1, 2020 and November 20, 2021, Marrakech is the most requested destination by French tourists for travel dates from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021. The ochre city tops the ranking of the most searched destinations by the French in 2021 ahead of Dubai, Ajaccio, Lisbon, Pointe-à-Pitre, Barcelona, Porto, Saint-Denis, Rome, Algiers.

"There is no doubt that 2021 has been one of the most unpredictable years in terms of travel. We have seen throughout this year that changes in travel restrictions have impacted travel demand to some extent, but it is also true that the French are becoming more adept at anticipating these changes and will continue to do so in 2022," explains John-Lee Saez, Europe Director of Kayak, in a press release.
