Marrakech Tops French Travel Preferences for Second Year, Survey Reveals

Marrakech tops the ranking of the ten destinations most popular with the French in 2022, maintaining its first place for the second consecutive year. This emerges from a survey conducted by the travel comparator Liligo with the polling institute Opinion Way.
Marrakech retains, for the second consecutive year, the first place on the podium of the ranking of the destinations most popular with the French in 2022. It is followed by the Portuguese cities of Lisbon and Porto. Barcelona occupies the 5th place in the ranking. Then come overseas destinations of France such as Saint-Denis de la Réunion (6th) and Pointe-à-Pitre (7th) and the French city of Nice (8th). Montréal (Canada) and Fort-de-France in Martinique close the podium.
To rank the ten destinations most popular with the French in 2022, the travel comparator Liligo and the polling institute Opinion Way conducted a survey from December 20 to 21, 2022 on a sample of 1,089 people representative of the French population aged 18 and over. It emerges that 70% of the French traveled in 2022, compared to 64% in 2021. 11% of the French who did not travel explain their choice by a fear of being contaminated by Covid-19. The 30% of French people who did not travel cite inflation.
