Marrakech Tops French Holiday Travel Destinations, Airline Data Shows

Once again this year, French tourists have favored a Moroccan city for their year-end holidays, according to data just published by an airline.
Marrakech emerges as the preferred destination for the end-of-year holidays according to Transavia data, reporting a strong increase in bookings to the ochre city. Marrakech tops the list of destinations, ahead of Tunis and popular European cities. This trend shows a 6.3% increase in bookings compared to the previous year.
The low-cost airline Transavia, a subsidiary of Air France-KLM, has recorded a strong increase in bookings for Marrakech, particularly from Marseille and Paris-Orly, reports the specialized site Air Journal. This growing demand is reflected in an expected load factor of nearly 90%, demonstrating the continued enthusiasm for Marrakech, which stands out among the popular winter and year-end destinations.
This renewed interest in Marrakech is part of a broader context of tourism growth in Morocco, as shown by the recent statistics from the Ministry of Tourism. The country welcomed a record 13.2 million tourists in the first eleven months of 2023, surpassing the previous record of 2019.
