Morocco Shatters Tourism Record with 13.2 Million Visitors in 2023

Some 13.2 million people visited Morocco during the first eleven months of 2023, breaking the all-time record of 12.9 million tourists for the entire year of 2019, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy.
The year 2023 is "truly a year of breakthrough for Moroccan tourism. In 11 months, 13.2 million tourists have visited Morocco, thus beating the all-time record of 12.9 million for the entire year 2019," the ministry said in a statement.
Compared to the same period in 2022, the increase is 36%. In November 2023, about one million tourists flocked to Morocco, marking a 9% increase compared to November 2022.
For the Ministry of Tourism, this positive momentum reflects the effectiveness of the promotion and air transport actions deployed by Morocco as well as its growing attractiveness as a popular tourist destination.
"We are delighted with these exceptional results, which encourage and motivate us even more to continue the work undertaken with all the stakeholders in the sector. The beginning of the realization of the 2023-2026 tourism roadmap is clearly bearing fruit, and we are well on our way to exceeding the target of 14 million tourists by the end of December 2023," said the minister.
