Marrakech: "They stole my apartment": a man attempts suicide and blames his bank

According to the information gathered on site, the man is protesting against what he describes as an "injustice" of which he would be a victim at the hands of a bank. The dispute would be related to the eviction of a property belonging to him. To make himself heard, he brandished a sign addressing an appeal to King Mohammed VI, claiming to be "wronged by sons of the homeland" and to have lost his source of livelihood due to "unfair procedures".

The incident immediately mobilized the local authorities, the security services and significant civil protection resources. Negotiators are on the scene and are trying to convince the man to give up his act and come down from the pole, while passers-by watch the scene with concern. The efforts continued for a good part of the day.
