Marrakech Sees 27% Surge in New Business Registrations, Nearly 8,000 Companies Created in 2021

In 2021, nearly 8,000 companies were created in Marrakech, up 27% compared to 2020, according to the Regional Investment Center (CRI) of the region.
More precisely, 7,930 companies were created that year in the ochre city, specifies the CRI-MS, according to which investors took advantage of a generally favorable context, with sustained economic recovery, the multiplication of financing programs, and improved access to these programs.
This upward trend is also explained by the restructuring of the creation activity which allowed the doubling of appointments as well as the efforts deployed in terms of awareness-raising, economic impetus or support.
According to the figures revealed by the director of the CRI-MS, Yassine Mseffer, 65 meetings of the Unified Regional Investment Commission were held, which made it possible to grant a favorable opinion (or favorable with reserve) to 194 projects (i.e. an increase of +341% compared to 2020), for a total investment amount of 36.67 billion dirhams and 34,470 projected jobs.
