Morocco Sees 77,000 New Businesses Created Amid Economic Challenges

In a context of inflation and geopolitical crisis, Morocco has continued its policy of promoting companies by strengthening its support programs and major projects. By the end of October, business creation has seen an increase, with 77,322 additional entities.
According to figures from the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC), business creation has maintained its upward trend during the first ten months of the year. This dynamic has affected the majority of economic sectors, the same source specifies, noting that by nature, there were 52,968 legal entities and 24,354 physical entities.
By sector, 36.42% of the companies created concerned commerce, followed by construction and real estate activities (17.72%), various services (17.48%), transport (8.88%), industry (7.12%), hotels and restaurants (6.46%), information and communication technologies (2.59%), agriculture and fishing (2.22%) and financial activities (1.1%).
This increase in creations is attributable to the many programs initiated this year by the government, the office recalls. The objective is to strengthen the national entrepreneurial fabric. Thus, we cite as an example the "Tamwilcom" loan program, Forsa, a mentoring project aimed at supporting Moroccan entrepreneurs and stimulating employment, and finally Awrach, based on the support of business projects.
