Marrakech-Safi Region Surpasses 1,000 COVID-19 Cases, Second Highest in Morocco

The Marrakech-Safi region has had more than 1,000 people infected with the coronavirus since May 1. It thus becomes the second most affected region by the covid-19 pandemic, after Casablanca-Settat, the epicenter of the epidemic.
According to the "covidmaroc" platform of the Ministry of Health, the Marrakech-Safi region recorded this record number of infections in 24 hours, after the identification of 47 new cases in the region.
With these new figures, Morocco has, as of Friday, May 1, 4,569 confirmed cases, 171 deaths, 1,083 recoveries, 32,437 cases excluded after negative laboratory tests, and 3,315 cases under treatment.
As for the distribution of new cases of contamination, the Casablanca-Settat region remains at the top of the regions most affected by covid-19, with 1,157 cases of contamination, or 37 more than the day before.
As for the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region, it has 619 cases of contamination, or 22 more in 24 hours.
