Casablanca Nears 2,000 COVID-19 Cases as Morocco's Total Infections Reach 6,681

The epicenter of contamination for a few weeks now, the Casablanca-Settat region is dangerously approaching 2,000 confirmed cases of covid-19. To date, it has 1,896 confirmed cases, after the detection of 14 new cases out of the 29 contaminations nationwide, this Saturday at 10 a.m.

With these 29 positive cases, Morocco now has 6,681 infected people since the first case was recorded.

Regarding the map of the distribution of new cases, after Casablanca-Settat, Marrakech-Safi aligns with 1,241 confirmed cases (19%), followed by Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (948), Fès-Meknès (938), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (663) and Draa-Tafilalet (585).

The national report also shows 75 new recoveries, for a total of 3,475 and two new deaths, for a total of 192.

As for the excluded cases, they stand at 77,414 after negative laboratory tests (an increase of 2,450), and 3,014 cases under treatment.
