Marrakech’s Royal Mansour Named 5th Best Luxury Hotel Worldwide

Three Moroccan palaces are among the top 100 best luxury hotels in the world for 2022. This is the result of a ranking by a specialized magazine.
Royal Mansour, Oberoi and Mandarin Oriental, all three Marrakech palaces, are in the latest ranking of the 100 best luxury hotels in the world for 2022 by the American magazine Travel & Leisure. Royal Mansour ranks 5th globally and tops the North Africa and Middle East (MENA) region. The magazine presents it as a "quintessential" historic site that stands out for its acres of gardens, its 53 riads, its finely carved arches and its Moorish tiled courtyards.
Oberoi takes 17th place in the global ranking. This palace owes this position in particular to its villas with private pools, and its Ayurvedic spa offering meditation, yoga and healing treatments. Oberoi "impresses both in size and Moorish architecture," Travel & Leisure notes.
Mandarin Oriental is entering the ranking of the 100 best luxury hotels in the world for the first time. It occupies the 57th position. Mandarin Oriental is a luxury hotel that stands out for its 54 "rustic yet elegant" suites and villas, its 20 hectares of palm trees, olive trees and shimmering lakes, its Hakkasan restaurant, its large pools and its immense spa.
To establish its World’s Best Awards ranking, Travel & Leisure conducts a survey of its readers, which focuses on their opinions and travel experiences around the world.
