Marrakech Ranks 8th in Tripadvisor’s Top Global Tourist Destinations for 2024

Marrakech maintains its 8th place in the ranking of the most popular tourist destinations in the world established by Tripadvisor on the occasion of its Travellers Choice Awards 2024. The ochre city wins the award ahead of Crete (Greece). Dubai (United Arab Emirates) is designated the most popular tourist destination in the world for the third consecutive year. "Everything seems extremely spectacular in Dubai, from the ultra-modern Burj Khalifa to the souks and shopping malls filled with gold and jewelry vendors. It’s a place where if you can dream it, you can do it, whether it’s skiing indoors, surfing the desert dunes or zip-lining over the city," comments Tripadvisor.

Bali (Indonesia) ranks second in the ranking. London, the British capital, Hanoi (Vietnam), and Rome (Italy) follow. Paris (France) takes sixth place ahead of Cancun (Mexico). Hoi An (Vietnam) completes the top 10.

To designate the winners of the 2024 Travellers’ Choice Awards, Tripadvisor took into account the quality and quantity of specific reviews and ratings in several sub-categories of traveler awards on its site for accommodations, restaurants and things to do in destinations around the world over the 12 months between October 2022 and September 2023.
