A Moroccan city in the Top 10 of cultural capitals

A Moroccan city is among the top 10 cultural capitals with the most activities to do. American cities dominate the ranking.

Marrakech, the Moroccan city that has always fascinated artists and travelers, is among the 10 cultural cities with the most things to do. With 374.30 things to do per 100,000 inhabitants, the ochre city ranks fourth in the ranking established by the Titan Travel site. Cusco, a city in the Peruvian Andes, once the capital of the Inca Empire, tops the ranking with 579.72 activities and excursions to practice (per 100,000 people), including full-day visits to Machu Picchu or an excursion to the famous Rainbow Mountain, which can be visited in a single day on a guided tour. It is followed by Charleston (United States) with 547.57 activities to do. With 417.97 activities to do, Miami, another American city, ranks third. Granada (Spain) takes fifth place with 347.38 activities to do. Then come Florence (Italy), San Francisco (United States), Edinburgh (United Kingdom) with respectively 332.52, 331.84 and 330.04. Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, (325.62) and Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands (278.44), known for its artistic heritage, its elaborate canal system and its narrow gabled houses, a legacy of the city’s golden age in the 17th century.

To establish its ranking, Titan Travel first drew up an initial list of 60 of the most culturally attractive cities, using sources such as The Culture Trip and Time Out. Using World Population Review data, the site gathered the population of each destination. It then used TripAdvisor for all its cultural factors. Finally, the site collected the score of each destination for each factor and normalized them relative to each other to obtain a final score out of 10.
