Marrakech Police Dismantle Violent Robbery Gang, Arrest Key Suspect

They should no longer be rampant in Marrakech. The police have just announced the arrest of several individuals suspected of being the perpetrators of several violent robberies in recent months in the ochre city.
In a press release, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicates that it has dismantled "a criminal gang specializing in armed robbery, one of whose members was the subject of a national arrest warrant". The latter, who recently left prison, is accused of robbery with the threat of a knife as well as an attempted kidnapping of a minor, in accordance with the "description reported in the victims’ complaints".
The investigation carried out by the police services made it possible to identify and above all to arrest the accomplices, who number 4. They are "suspected of being accomplices of the apprehended defendant for the constitution of a criminal gang, of being involved in armed robberies and of possessing objects resulting from these acts, although they were aware of their origin", specifies the DGSN.
And that’s not all, since one of the arrested persons was the subject of an arrest warrant for "armed robbery, kidnapping of a minor and attempted rape", which means that the individuals probably had no intention of putting an end to their misdeeds.
The suspects were placed in custody pending their appearance before the courts, while a fifth individual was released but remains prosecuted by the public prosecutor.
