Marrakech Police Arrest Suspect in Violent Theft Case

Elements of the 7th police district in Marrakech proceeded, on Friday, December 6, to the arrest of an individual for aggravated theft.
At the origin of this arrest, a complaint that the elements of the 7th police district received regarding an aggravated theft with serious injuries, resulting in permanent disability, says a security source. Ahead of the arrest of the defendant, the services of the Gueliz-Medina Police District interacted "swiftly and efficiently" during the night of December 4 to 5, the same source said.
The investigation and investigations carried out in the context of this case proved fruitful: the accused was identified. He is a man with multiple criminal records for theft.
The elements of said police district had to place under surveillance several places frequented by the defendant, in order to succeed in arresting him, last Friday, in an abandoned house in the Taloujt neighborhood. Similarly, the police officers proceeded to seize a machete and two iron chains during the legal search carried out at the home of the accused.
The alleged repeat offender thief admitted the facts he is accused of during his interrogation. Pending his referral to justice, he was placed in custody for the needs of the investigation.
