Marrakech Police Arrest Suspect in String of 40 Attacks on Women

The Judicial Police Prefectural Service of Marrakech has finally neutralized a young man in his twenties who is suspected of having attacked at least forty women.
The nightmare is over for the women of Marrakech. Since September 17, their public enemy is now in the hands of the police in the ochre city. This twenty-year-old suspected of serious assault and battery and armed robbery against more than forty women has been arrested, reports Al Massae.
According to the same source, the arrest of the suspect follows the many complaints filed by women against him. He was terrorizing the Al Menara district.
After his arrest, he was immediately taken to the police station. There, 20 of his victims recognized him. Pending his appearance, the suspect was placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.
This latest arrest extends the list of 420,348 individuals arrested as part of the security operations carried out by the services and brigades of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) since the beginning of this year.
The number of individuals apprehended has increased by 8.23% compared to the same period in 2018, said Mohamed Dkhissi, Director of the Judicial Police, during a press conference held in Salé on Thursday, September 19.
