Marrakech Officials Debunk Rumors of Shop Closures Amid Coronavirus Concerns

Every day brings its share of rumors and misinformation since the coronavirus has become a reality in Morocco. One of the latest is that related to the closure of small businesses and supermarkets in the city of Marrakech.
The objective according to the rumors would be to convince the inhabitants to stay at home as much as possible. The local authorities did not take long to publish a press release to refute these rumors which, according to them, remain the work of people driven by the desire to harm and add to the stress of the population.
While calling the population to calm and serenity, the authorities specified that "life continues as before and that the schedules remain unchanged: the shops and supermarkets will open as usual to close only at 6 pm".
They also ask citizens to stay at home and respect the laws governing the state of health emergency, and the hygiene rules in force.
