Marrakech Medina tragedy: Swiss tourist killed in traffic crash
A Swiss national aged 64 died Wednesday morning in the old medina of Marrakech. The victim was fatally struck following a collision between two vehicles.
A sightseeing stroll turned tragic this Wednesday, 4 February, at Bab Doukkala. A Swiss tourist, who was walking with her husband through this lively district of the ochre city, was hit after a violent crash between a taxi and a utility vehicle.

According to the initial findings gathered at the scene, the collision between the two vehicles caused the woman in her sixties to be thrown to the ground, resulting in severe head trauma. Taken into care by civil protection in critical condition, she succumbed to her injuries while being transferred to the emergency department, dying before reaching the hospital.

Local authorities and security services secured the area and opened an investigation to determine the exact responsibility for this fatal accident in the heart of the tourist zone.
