After Marrakech, an Israeli airline now wants to fly directly to Casablanca
Israir wants to expand its Morocco program this winter. After resuming flights to Marrakech in September, the Israeli airline plans to double its frequency to the ochre city and is seeking permission to open a weekly route to Casablanca.
Israir has submitted an application to operate one direct flight per week between Israel and Casablanca starting in early November, reports The Jerusalem Post. The airline is now awaiting approval from the relevant authorities.

Marrakech is at a more advanced stage. Israir resumed flights to the city on September 1, with one weekly round trip scheduled through the end of October. Starting in November, it plans to increase this to two flights per week and maintain that frequency until early January, according to Israel National News.
Adding Casablanca would give the airline two points of entry into Morocco. Its passengers could land in Marrakech and fly back from Casablanca, or make the reverse journey, without returning to their arrival city.
Marrakech confirmed, Casablanca still pending
The two routes therefore do not yet have the same status. Flights to Marrakech are scheduled, while the weekly flight to Casablanca still depends on the authorization Israir has requested.
This expansion comes after the long interruption of direct routes between Israel and Morocco. Israir is focusing its new program on November and December, a period during which the airline aims to attract both individual travelers and groups.
