Royal Air Maroc Revives Routes to Marrakech, Expands African Network

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announces the launch this winter of four new routes between France and Marrakech and two others to Africa from Casablanca.
In reality, Royal Air Maroc will be restoring these four routes to Marrakech that had been suspended in 2017 and 2022. The Moroccan airline announces the resumption of its flights from Lyon and Toulouse to Marrakech on October 10, and that of the Nantes-Marrakech route on October 11, followed by the relaunch of the service from Bordeaux on October 12. RAM will operate two weekly frequencies on these routes with a Boeing 737-800 in a two-class configuration, reports Voyages d’affaires.
A third weekly frequency will be added on the Marseille-Marrakech route from October 27. The Moroccan company will increase from four weekly flights to a daily frequency on the Paris-CDG/Marrakech route between December 16, 2025 and January 18, 2026, it is specified.
In addition, RAM will inaugurate two weekly connections to N’Djamena (Chad) from Casablanca starting September 17. The next day, September 18, the company will launch the route to the island of Sal in Cape Verde from its Casablanca hub. The flights will be operated twice a week. From September 17, the Moroccan company will also connect Zurich with a B737-800 that will make the trip twice a week.
To strengthen the reception capacity of Casablanca-Mohammed V airport, the Moroccan government has recently announced the construction of a new runway and a second terminal. This last infrastructure will allow the airport platform to accommodate a traffic of 35 million passengers compared to 15 million currently. The construction of a high-speed train station is also planned. Launched in July, the work on the new terminal will be completed in 2029, before the 2030 World Cup.
