Marrakech Emerges as Surprise Christmas Hotspot for US Travelers, Outshining Beach Destinations

A famous American travel and leisure magazine places a Moroccan city among the most popular destinations for Christmas holidays.
According to Google Flights data, Marrakech ranks third in the list of the most popular destinations for Christmas holidays, established by Travel + Leisure. This data examined the year-over-year increase in searches specifically for travel departing from US airports between December 21 and January 4. "Marrakech is generally mild in winter and offers stunning architecture, markets and restaurants to enjoy," it is described.
Rio de Janeiro tops the ranking. The Brazilian city owes this position to its lively nightlife, magnificent beaches, rich culture, but also its museums, numerous restaurants and beautiful landscapes to explore. This seaside city is followed by the tropical island of St. Lucia. This island attracts tourists who wish to escape the gloomy weather of the winter months and enjoy the beautiful beaches and sunshine.
