The elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of Marrakech arrested several people in a riad transformed into an illegal nightclub during this period of health emergency.
These massive arrests took place on the night of Friday to Saturday last following a denunciation, reports Assabah. The information received indicates that suspicious activity is being carried out in a riad. In total, 21 people, including the managers of the place, a belly dancer and customers, men and women, were arrested during a drunken evening in this riad. They were then placed in custody and then in pre-trial detention in the Oudaya prison.
The preliminary investigation reveals that the owner of the riad is a foreigner who rented it to a Moroccan. The latter transformed it into a nightclub where alcoholic beverages of unknown origin are served. Arrest warrants have also been issued against the alcohol supplier.
Pending their appearance, the arrested persons will be prosecuted for violation of the state of health emergency and consumption of alcohol.
