Massage Center Raided in Agadir: 8 Arrested for Alleged Prostitution Ring

Eight individuals, including 5 young women, were prosecuted for prostitution, pimping and violation of the state of health emergency. The defendants had turned a massage center in the city center of Agadir into a place of debauchery.
The judicial police brigade of Agadir carried out a raid on Thursday in a spa in the Talborjt district. The center, transformed into a brothel, had been the subject of several complaints from neighbors.
Three young men and 5 young women, whose age and nationality were not disclosed, were caught in the act of sexual relations during the intervention of the elements of the city’s police prefecture, reports Amnous.
The 8 people were placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, pending the completion of the judicial investigation.
Article 490 of the Moroccan Penal Code severely punishes prostitution. Thus, "any extramarital sexual relationship between a man and a woman is considered debauchery and punishable by a firm prison sentence of one month to one year".
