Fez Police Raid Illegal Shisha Cafes, Arrest 8 Managers During Health Emergency

Eight cafe managers were arrested in different neighborhoods by the judicial police under the regional prefecture of the national security of Fez. They are accused of violating the state of health emergency and illegal shisha consumption.
These defendants were arrested during the past week not only for offenses related to the violation of the state of health emergency but also for possession and sale of smuggled consumer products, reports Assabah.
Following complaints from residents about the existence of these shisha consumption cafes during the state of emergency, the elements of the Judicial Police carried out a raid on these places and several quantities of narghile and hundreds of packs of maassel (shisha) from smuggling were seized.
They also took in all the customers caught in the act of consumption at the police station. Some were released after an identity check to ensure that none of them were the subject of a wanted notice. As for the cafe managers, eight in number, they were taken into custody for the needs of the investigation.
