Marrakech Airfares Drop for Christmas, Bucking Regional Trend

Craving sun for the end-of-year holidays? Good news: Marrakech is showing lower prices for Christmas! A bargain for the French who want to fly to Morocco.
This is the case, for example, for the city of Marrakech, where a round trip from Paris currently costs 313 euros, or 2% less than last year.
However, this downward trend does not concern all destinations. While airfare prices remain generally stable compared to 2023 for most short and medium-haul destinations, some cities like Porto (+14%) and Tunis (+19%) are seeing their prices soar.
To avoid unpleasant surprises, experts recommend finalizing bookings as soon as possible. "Beyond the next two weeks, there is a significant risk of paying much more," warns Eva Fouquet, vice president of Kayak.fr, as quoted by the newspaper Le Parisien.
After Covid, airlines had raised their prices to recover financially. But today, this strategy seems to be reaching its limits. "The nest egg no longer necessarily exists and you can’t raise prices forever," observes Eva Fouquet.
This summer, some airlines even had to slash their ticket prices to fill their planes. For the end-of-year holidays, demand is strong, especially for long-haul flights like Bangkok and New York.
There is no magic recipe for finding the best prices, other than booking early and choosing travel dates carefully. Saturday, December 21, the busiest day, is also the most expensive. Leaving on December 31 allows savings on European and non-European flights.
