Maroc Telecom Expands African Presence with Acquisition of Chad’s Tigo Mobile

New operation in Africa by the [Maroc Telecom] group, which has just taken over the entire capital of Tigo Chad, a mobile operator in Chad.
The announcement was made yesterday by the Africa director of the Luxembourg group Millicom, without however providing more details on this acquisition other than the signing of an agreement between the two groups.
For it to be fully operational, it must first be validated by the Chadian authorities, the government having one month to give its approval or, on the contrary, refuse the acquisition by the Moroccan group.
It should be noted that this acquisition is part of Maroc Telecom’s international development strategy, which has already, in the past, taken over many local operators in other countries.
