Maroc Telecom Expands African Presence, Customer Base Grows 8.4%

The growth of the Maroc Telecom company is not within the kingdom but in Africa, thanks to the many subsidiaries acquired in several countries south of the Sahara.
Cited by the weekly Jeune Afrique, the growth figures of the Moroccan group, a subsidiary of Etisalat, show an 8.4% increase in the customer base for the year 2018, recording a record of 38.4 million subscribers. At the Moroccan level, there is also nothing to be ashamed of since the group announces a 3.4% increase in its customer base to 22.4 million.
And this development in Africa continues with the acquisition just a few weeks ago of Tigo Chad, indicates the same source, which recalls that Maroc Telecom is chaired by Abdeslam Ahizoune, in his position since 1999.
With the acquisition of the Chadian operator, the Moroccan is now present in 10 African countries and is betting everything on mobile internet, from which it generated revenues up nearly 40% last year.
