Manchester United Unlikely to Extend Sofyan Amrabat’s Stay, Reports Suggest

Sofyan Amrabat’s adventure at Manchester United could end sooner than expected. The English club is apparently considering not extending Sofyan Amrabat’s stay beyond the current season.
According to internal information relayed by The Sun, the Moroccan midfielder is struggling to adapt to the intense pace of the Premier League. At the same time, coach Erik ten Hag is betting more on the young Kobbie Mainoo, considered a promising talent for the club’s future.
Recruited at the end of the summer transfer window following his performance during the 2022 World Cup, Amrabat was seen as the missing piece of the Manchester midfield. However, despite high expectations and his 17 appearances in the red jersey, he has failed to establish himself as an indispensable element, raising doubts about his future at Old Trafford.
While the club has invested £8 million for his loan, with a purchase option set at £17 million plus bonuses, his future seems uncertain. The club’s management seems reluctant to activate this option, despite the player’s recognized qualities and his impact with the Moroccan national team during the World Cup.
In this context, attention is turning to Mainoo, whose rise offers a glimmer of hope for a club eliminated from European competitions. Despite a foot injury, the young prodigy has quickly integrated into the first team, earning the praise of ten Hag.
