Manchester United Set to Part Ways with Sofyan Amrabat as Summer Shake-up Looms

The adventure of Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat at Old Trafford could end next year. Manchester United do not plan to exercise their purchase option next summer.
Many challenges await Manchester United in the Premier League but also in the Champions League. The club is therefore considering parting ways with certain players next summer to recruit others under the direction of Sir Jim Ratcliffe who should take over the football operations of Man United after concluding a 25% purchase of the club. These are players like Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Anthony Martial, Hannibal Mejbri, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton who are out of contract, reports Transfermarkt. Loaned players like Sofyan Amrabat could not get a permanent contract next summer. In other words, if the Mancunians do not exercise their purchase option in June, the Moroccan international will leave Old Trafford and his contract with Fiorentina will automatically be extended by one year, allowing the Viola to obtain a higher price in case of a transfer.
Amrabat joined Manchester United at the end of the summer transfer window on loan from ACF Fiorentina until June 2024 for a fee of 10 million euros with a purchase option of 21.5 million pounds. After a good start, the 27-year-old player is struggling to establish himself at Old Trafford. The Moroccan international "has still not had a positive impact on Erik ten Hag’s team" because he "is sometimes relegated to the left-back position," commented The Sun, adding that he has also struggled to adapt to the pace and intensity of the Premier League.
