Manchester United’s Amrabat Reveals Hidden Injury Impacted Early Performance

Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat opened up about his difficult start at Manchester United, which he joined at the end of the summer transfer window.
Sofyan Amrabat explains his difficult debut at Manchester United. He joined Manchester United on loan from ACF Fiorentina until June 2024 for a fee of 10 million euros with an option to buy of 21.5 million pounds. The 27-year-old player revealed that he hid an injury after arriving at Old Trafford. He suffered from a back problem for which he had received painkilling injections last December during Morocco’s qualification for the 2022 Qatar World Cup quarter-finals. This problem prevented him from making his debut with the Red Devils. However, he will be selected to start at the end of September against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.
The Moroccan midfielder had to play as a left-back due to the multiplicity of defensive injuries that left United with only one full-back. So far, he has not been able to maintain his starting position despite Casemiro’s injury. After an impressive performance against Chelsea, Sofyan claims that his early performances were compromised by a secret injury. He told Metro.co.uk that he had started the season with an injury and that he normally needed time to adapt. "But there was no time, the team needed me, so I had to integrate immediately and I’m a fighter, I’ll never say no when the manager needs me," added the Moroccan international.
