Man United’s Ten Hag Tight-Lipped on Post-Match Chat with Chelsea’s Ziyech
Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag remained silent on his post-match conversation with Hakim Ziyech, after the Red Devils’ crushing 4-1 victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford. This success sealed Manchester United’s place in the Champions League for next season.
Citing his close ties with Ziyech dating back to their time at Ajax, ten Hag was enigmatic about the content of their discussion, simply stating that "it’s between Hakim and me. We’ve experienced a lot of great things together." This statement, as well as Ziyech’s jersey exchange with Manchester United defender Tyrel Malacia, fueled the questions of Chelsea supporters, already disappointed by their team’s performance.
Ziyech, who had excelled under Ten Hag’s leadership at Ajax, has failed to maintain the same level of performance since his transfer to Chelsea in 2020. While a move to PSG was mentioned during the January transfer window, the situation has remained unchanged. Currently, Ziyech is one of the players likely to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
