Ziyech’s Move to Al Nassr in Jeopardy After Medical Reveals Knee Concerns
While Hakim Ziyech has accepted his departure from Chelsea to Saudi Arabia, it is possible that Al Nassr will ultimately refuse to sign him. Why?
After a disappointing season at Chelsea, where he struggled to establish himself, Ziyech hopes for a new start. Many clubs were in the running to recruit him, but he could ultimately land in Saudi Arabia. However, this transfer could be compromised by medical issues.
The Moroccan underwent a medical examination for the Al-Nassr club, and the doctors detected problems with the player’s knee. These issues, already identified by Paris Saint-Germain during their loan attempt last transfer window, could slow down Ziyech’s transfer to Cristiano Ronaldo’s team.
A previous transfer to PSG had failed due to administrative complications on Chelsea’s side. This last obstacle had exacerbated Ziyech’s frustrations and led him to consider other options for the continuation of his career. A transfer to Saudi Arabia would allow him to turn the page on his three years at Chelsea.
If Ziyech were to leave Chelsea, he would end a period marked by mixed performances. The 30-year-old player, acquired for £37 million from Ajax, failed to confirm the expectations despite 14 goals and 13 assists in 107 appearances. But his performance at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is a reminder of the untapped potential of the Moroccan international.
