Chelsea’s Pochettino Era Begins: Ziyech Among 15 Players Facing Summer Exit
After being officially appointed Chelsea coach on Monday, Mauricio Pochettino is already preparing to make many changes to the club’s squad. And the Moroccan Hakim Ziyech should be sacrificed and sold off.
If everything goes as planned, Pochettino could benefit from a substantial budget to recruit key players this summer. Even though the official announcement of his arrival was only made this week, an agreement was already in place since early May, allowing the coach to work behind the scenes, believes The Guardian.
Thus, around fifteen players should be sold at the end of the season, including the Moroccan Hakim Ziyech. Bought for £37 million two years ago, he should be sold off for £15 million at the end of the season. Several clubs are vying to buy him back, including AC Milan, PSG or Inter Milan.
In total, these departures should bring the club around £280 million, enough to be able to recruit some players and start the next season with new objectives.
