Man Jailed for Illegally Halting Casablanca Tram After Soccer Match

The Tramway Police Brigade arrested a man who, without any valid reason, immobilized a tramway for nearly 10 minutes. This was on Saturday, November 23 in Casablanca, after the last derby match.
The man accessed the tramway network without a travel ticket and activated an alarm handle. This constitutes an offense, RATP Dev said in a statement.
The defendant was sentenced to two months in prison with a fine of 500 dirhams.
RATP Dev Casablanca took the opportunity of this incident to remind that it is strictly forbidden to pull the alarm handles without valid reason. Such an unjustified action is punishable by a fine of 150 dirhams and exposes its author to more severe sanctions in the event of a line stoppage.
