An investigation jointly conducted by Moroccan and Spanish police led, on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, in Béziers, in the Hérault, to the seizure of 1.6 tons of cannabis resin and the arrest of 6 people, all members of the same family clan.
Moroccan and Spanish police made a spectacular discovery! An important logistics platform for narcotic products near Béziers, describes France Tv Info, which mentions an enormous seizure: 1.6 tons of cannabis resin, estimated at nearly 6 million euros!
This is an operation that delights Jean-Philippe Fougereau, the Director of the SRPJ of Montpellier. Already, at the beginning of the year, the same source recalls, 1,616 kilos of cannabis resin, packed in Moroccan suitcases, had been discovered, still near Béziers, which is thus becoming a real "hub" of drugs.
In the case of the present operation, it took five months of an investigation conducted by the Narcotics Brigade and the BRI of Montpellier, under the aegis of the JIRS of Marseille, who also benefited from international cooperation.
As part of this operation, the police arrested 6 men aged 23 to 44, while the searches carried out led to the seizure of a luxury car, a motorcycle, three handguns and 26,000 euros.
"We are on a real logistics platform, a kind of HB 34 of drugs," explains the boss of the SRPJ, who hopes for other arrests in the coming days.
