Magnitude 4.5 Earthquake Strikes Near Rabat, Morocco; No Damage Reported

An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale shook the Khémisset region in Morocco this Friday, May 23, 2025.
The tremor, recorded at 12:12:44 PM at a depth of 23 kilometers, was felt in the province of Khémisset, in the Rabat region.
Witnesses reported on social media a slight movement of objects inside homes. The tremor did not cause panic or material damage.
In September 2023, an earthquake of rare violence had struck the Marrakech region, leaving behind 2,946 dead, 5,674 injured, and devastated infrastructure.
