Macron's Morocco Visit Likely in Fall, Diplomatic Sources Say

The visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Rabat is still under preparation.

Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Morocco is expected to take place. "With a high probability, the visit is still planned between September and October next," a well-informed diplomatic source told Hespress, stating that the Moroccan and French authorities "have continued without interruption, even after Paris entered the legislative elections, the preparations for an official visit by Macron to Rabat". According to the same source, Rabat and Paris still have the same willingness as during the exchanges of visits by the foreign ministers of the two countries to organize this visit.

On Sunday, King Mohammed VI addressed a message to French President Emmanuel Macron on the occasion of the French National Day. "Thanks to the common determination that animates us, Morocco and France will, I am convinced, enrich their deep bonds of friendship, in a spirit of dialogue, trust and mutual consideration," said the Moroccan sovereign. He added: "I also know that I can count on your personal commitment so that this partnership can take into account the important interests for Our two countries".

On Friday, five Moroccan ministers: Chakib Benmoussa, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, Minister of Economy and Finance, and Aawatif Hayar, Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and the Family, participated in the celebration of the French National Day at the French Embassy in Rabat.
