Lyon Fan Accused of Racist Attack on Muslim Woman During French Cup Final Broadcast

A Lyon supporter allegedly tried to remove the veil from a woman during the live broadcast of the French Cup final between PSG and Lyon (2-1) at the Groupama Stadium. A racist assault that was denounced on social media.
In addition to the violent clashes recorded between supporters at the Fresnes-les-Montauban toll barrier during the French Cup final between PSG and Lyon on Saturday (2-1), incidents were reported at the Groupama Stadium where the match was broadcast on a giant screen. Some Lyon supporters are said to have had racist and Nazi behavior towards women, denounced some Internet users on X, calling on the leaders of Lyon to take responsibility.
According to RMC Sport, an Internet user said he witnessed an assault by men on two women. One of the men is said to have struck one of the women in the face and tried to remove her veil. The security is said to have simply moved the alleged aggressor a few meters away, a measure deemed ineffective by the Internet user, especially since the person had already received a warning of exclusion from the stadium a few minutes earlier.
Another video, which went viral on social media, shows a man violently elbowing his neighbor to the right who was trying to avoid them with her hand. The Lyon supporters are calling for the alleged perpetrators of these racist acts to be identified and arrested. In total, more than 35,000 people followed the match broadcast on the giant screen at the Groupama Stadium, won by PSG 2-1.
