Violent Punch Mars Morocco-DRC Women’s Soccer Match, Player Faces Ban

A fight broke out during the friendly match between the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco and the Lady Leopards of the DRC (3-2) on Monday in Berkane.
The friendly match between Morocco and the DRC, won by the Atlas Lionesses (3-2), was marked by a fight. Shortly after half-time, Ruth Kipoyi tackled an Atlas Lioness, reports The SUN. Immediately afterwards, another Moroccan player Yasmine Mrabet got involved and tried to push the Congolese player away, but the latter punched her violently in the face. The defensive midfielder from Levante falls to her knees. The medical team rushes to assist her. The Congolese player receives a red card and leaves the field while Morocco was leading 2-1.
In the eyes of the supporters, this suspension of Kipoyi is insufficient. They demand a lifetime ban on the 26-year-old player. "Should it be a lifetime ban from football? How can this happen on a football pitch?", comments a supporter. "It’s so crazy," writes another. "Lifetime ban," demands a third. "The police should be involved," comments another.
